Two studies published in Occupational Therapy showed that the material wrapped in blankets with a little thicker than thin blankets to help people with anxiety disorders to sleep faster. A study published in the Australasian Psychiatry also confirmed the same thing.
The scientists also found that a thick blanket can help people with anxiety disorders, ADHD, and autism, or even insomnia to fall asleep more quickly.
Tina Champagne study author from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst said, "Blanket helps about 75 percent of people who often experience difficulty falling asleep faster to sleep soundly even".
Why is that? Because the covers with a certain weight can bring the sensation of a hug, so psychologically person become calmer and easier to fall asleep.
However, a study published in the journal Pediatrics involving 63 children aged 5 to 16 years seek remedy, sleep with thick or thin blanket has less effect on the child's sleep quality.
However, most children and parents reported more comfortable when using a thicker blanket.
